People who run experience many benefits that positively impact many aspects of their lives. If everyone runs, they will find that they are left healthier and happier.

Personally, I find that running every day improves my confidence, happiness, healthiness and energy level.

Not only does it improve those parts of my life, but it also provides a time every day that I can have fun and be with my friends. Ever since I took up running, I have met a lot of people who are extremely supportive and caring. Running is now something I look forward to everyday because I know that I will leave feeling happier than I had before.

Even if I am a bit tired from the workout… but that passes after a little bit and I am left feeling more energized than ever.

I also find that running daily helps me with my productivity and concentration. I run right after school, so I do not have time to do my homework before, but after I arrive at home once my run is complete I have the motivation to accomplish my work accurately and efficiently.

Last year was the first year I ran all year round, and I found that this also improves my health. Hopefully I do not jinx myself… but I found that I was healthier when running daily rather than only running part of the time.

According to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology running even five to ten minutes each day can significantly extend the life of the runner and reduce risks of cardiovascular disease. However, running not only helps runners improve their lives physically, but their mental health is also improved.

Running helps to alleviate depression. When you run, your body secretes hormones known as endorphins which help to improve your mood. Almost immediately, your outlook on life improves and you are left with a boost in self-esteem.

Many people claim that they do not have the time to exercise. In my opinion, if you think about it, you will not have time for anything extra if you do not make time for it. Instead of watching the seventh episode of “How I Met Your Mother” in a row (guilty) you can watch six instead, and still get out for a thirty minute run. See? It is the best of both worlds.

Running provides a multitude of health benefits. If you are willing to make the time and effort to get out for a run, you will find that your overall health and happiness improves tremendously.
