Best movies and shows to binge-watch this October

October is the perfect time for warm apple cider, pumpkin carving and a classic Halloween movie marathon.

The majority of kids today have watched the first on this list: “Halloween Town,”  a series of four movies that only improve in acting.

All movies center on the main character, a teenage witch named Gwen, and her family and friends.

For those who love a Disney classic, and are not into the scary side of Halloween movies, this is a perfect series to watch.

Another widely known series is “Harry Potter.” This book series turned into major motion pictures and have become a must watch during any holiday, Halloween included.

There are eight total “Harry Potter” movies, each as good as the last.

The main character is an orphan named Harry Potter. The theme throughout the series is about Potter being the  “chosen one”, due to surviving an attack from the most evil man in the wizard world. Harry is accompanied by his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, through all of his adventures.

Harry Potter is a movie series that anyone will love. I highly recommend donating a weekend to finishing this series; one if not all will easily become a favorite movie. The “Harry Potter” series are one of the few movies that are just as good as the novels.

The Goonies” is another movie not specifically associated with Halloween, but widely watched during the month of October. This is for good reason. “The Goonies” is full of pirates, treasure maps and adventure.

The movie starts off with two brothers learning they will have to sell their home, and with this the plot begins. They drag their friends along with them to find an ‘X’ on an old map. “The Goonies” is a perfect movie to watch this month when looking to bring back childhood memories.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is a Halloween special that will never get old. Every year this movie airs and every year people continue to feel like a kid again when watching it.

This movie brings back memories of elementary school Halloween parties and trick-or-treating, creating a sense of nostalgia.

It is a must watch every October and will continue to be for as long as people associate pumpkins with this holiday. Charlie Brown and the Peanut gang are celebrating Halloween and no one wants to miss out on this tradition.

Another special that airs once a year is the “The Suite Life” Halloween special called “The Ghost in Suite 613”.

Disney’s prime was when shows like “The Suite Life,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and “Hannah Montana” still existed, and luckily they made holiday specials as well.

This episode centers on a “haunted” hotel room and twins, Zach and Cody who could not stay away from the claim of ghosts. “The Suite Life” Halloween Special is yet another show watched in childhood that is still a classic today.

October holds many fall days perfect for hanging out with good company and watching an even better movie.
